Latest earnings call — Q2 2026
National Bank of Kuwait analyst conference, 22 July 2026
NBK delivered resilient 1H26 results despite regional geopolitical disruption and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, reporting net profit of KD324.8m (+3.0% YoY; 2Q26 +4.5% YoY to KD189m). Earnings were an operational meet-to-slight-beat, supported by one-off tax reversals and strong fee generation (+7.8% YoY), offsetting higher net credit provisions. Core lending momentum is decelerating—gross loans grew +3.6% YTD (+8.9% YoY) as Kuwait project awards halved sequentially to KD600m in 2Q26. Net Interest Margin (NIM) compressed 17 bps YoY to 2.29%, but stabilized sequentially at 2.28%, suggesting margin pressure is bottoming.
